With the Portal VS5, FIVSEN developed a multisensory luxury system combining light (“Luminous Matter”), scent, and sound. For its positioning in the high-end segment, a flawless visual representation was required. Traditional film productions reached their limits here, as FIVSEN needed absolute control over every pixel and the perfect depiction of their cold, rotating flame.
To meet the demands of the luxury segment, HYBRID created a digital twin of the product. Our approach relied on absolute physical precision: All material properties and textures were recreated with strict physical accuracy in the digital space. Through hybrid workflows—the seamless blending of CGI elements with real photography—alongside complete pixel-level control, we achieved photorealistic authenticity.
The result of this methodology is a crucial sales asset: A highly scalable media library of visuals, successfully deployed in B2B sales to top-level brands (including the automotive sector).
3D Flame Simulation of “Luminous Matter”: The system’s unique, cold, and rotating flame was intricately simulated in 3D, as it could not be practically filmed at the required quality.
Parametric Style Control: Development of custom control parameters to precisely and reproducibly define the behavior, shape, and visual style of the flame.
Overcoming Physical Limitations: Creation of high-end visuals for a multisensory system whose visual components (light and flame) defy traditional camera technology at this level of control.
