Initial Situation

The core competence of Weber Ultrasonics is invisible to the human eye. Complex physical processes like cavitation or ultrasonic welding occur in microseconds and cannot be adequately captured on camera. Relying on outdated slow-motion footage no longer reflected the innovative nature of their products.

The challenge was to create a modern, aesthetic, and instantly comprehensible visualization of the highly complex operations within four key products – the Sonopush transducer, custom welding sonotrodes, the flexible flow cell, and the Sonic Digital HS4 generator – tailored for trade shows and digital platforms.

Our Approach

We discarded the idea of lengthy explainer videos in favor of immediate visual impact. The result is a series of four concise, 15-second videos perfectly designed as seamless loops for trade show displays, websites, and social media. Within seconds, the viewer grasps the function and value of the respective ultrasound technology.

To emphasize the high-tech nature of the products, we established a dark, minimalist premium aesthetic that stages the physical effects as glowing, high-precision visual highlights.

Project Innovations

To push the boundaries of conventional CGI, we invested heavily in internal R&D, engineering custom software solutions specifically for this project:

  • Parametric Cavitation Simulation: Because the physical behavior of ultrasonic cavitation is extremely complex, we developed bespoke simulation setups to generate these processes with realistic and physical accuracy.

  • Molecular Chain Algorithm: To visualize the ultrasonic welding of plastics, we wrote a proprietary algorithm. It simulates how individual polypropylene atoms form and locally bond into solid molecular chains, making the invisible welding process tangible.

  • Frequency & Wave Visualization: The invisible high-frequency currents flowing to the piezo elements were made visible as dynamic waves. For the HS4 generator, we precisely visualized the transformation: a low input frequency (50Hz) is strikingly converted into high frequency (approx. 28kHz).
